* Pakistan’s tourism corporation MD calls on
Punjab tourism minister
Chandigarh,“There is ample scope of tourism promotion in india and Pakistan. Both the countries share common culture, Religious and Historical background. Varied range of monuments situated in both the countries which are of Religious and Historical importance can become intermingling places for the visitors of these two neighboring countries.”
This vision was shared by Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, Tourism Minister, Punjab with Mr. Choudhary Kabir Ahmed, Managing Director of Pakistan’s Tourism Corporation who called on Mr. Thandal some days ago. During the deliberations both the sides agreed to work in this direction by chalking out specific tourism policy. Mr. Thandal assured the visiting delegation to extend full support, security and other facilities to the Pakistan’s tourists visiting the Indian Punjab for Religious pilgrimage. Mr. Thandal appraised the Pakistani delegation that the state of Punjab has been incurring Rs. 1.50 crore on the renovation of the Hotels, which are the halt points of the ‘Delhi-Lahore Bus’ in Punjab. He said that these hotels are located in Kartarpur and Sirhind.
Tourism Minister Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal expressed hope that both the countries would henceforth join hands for the maintaining peace, stability in the region by bringing their folks closer. Mr. Thandal presented a memento to Mr. Choudhary Kabir Ahmed as a token of love.Among others Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Director; Tourism was also present at this occasion.
