Chandigarh, From all over the country 967 personnel have been awarded police medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. President’s Police Medals for Gallantry (PPMG) have been awarded to 25 personnel, Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG) to 132 personnel, President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service to 98 personnel and Police Medal for Meritorious Service to 712 personnel.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has announced Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak and Chief Minister’s Medal for Outstanding devotion to Duty to 5 & 7 police officers/officials respectively. The spokesman further informed that Lady SI Jasmine Kaur (No. 867/Patiala), ASI Gurjant Singh(No. 3-IRB/130, HC Sukhwinder Singh (No. 2589/Ludhiana), HC(PR) Nehru Singh (No. 1283/Ludhiana) and Ct. Darshan Singh (No. 3-IRB/451) have been awarded Chief Minister’s Rakshak Padak .
