Sangrur, With the resignation of Dhuri MLA Arvind Khanna from the Punjab Assembly accepted, the district unit of the BJP today demanded that SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal should allot the Dhuri seat to the BJP for the ensuing byelection.
A deputation of the party’s district uni, comprising district president Jogi Ram Sahni, general secretary Sarjiwan Jindal and a member of the state executive Satwant Singh Punia, today visited Banbhauri village, where the Chief Minister was holding a Sangat Darshan function. However, they could not meet him.
Talking to The Tribune, Sahni said they would send a letter to the SAD patron through state BJP president Kamal Sharma on the matter. He claimed they had already selected a candidate for the seat.
