Male Arrested in Sexual Assault Investigation
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a man in a sexual assault investigation.
A young victim recently came forward regarding ongoing incidents of inappropriate text messages. The incidents began in the spring of 2018 and lead to an arrest on December 3, 2019.
Investigators have arrested Eduart Pacheco, a 55 year-old male from Brampton and have charged him with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, and Criminal Harassment. He appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on December 4, 2019.
Pacheco was a hockey coach for a youth hockey team in the City of Brampton and has also coached youth baseball in the City of Brampton. Investigators believe that there may be additional victims. Police are asking anyone that has had contact with Eduart Pacheco and believe they have been the victim of a criminal offence, to contact officers from the Special Victims Unit.
