Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Gurjot Singh, 21, was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Brampton in Canada on June 18.
Gurjot Singh, a resident of Thamangarh village in Maur sub-division of the district, had gone to Canada for higher studies a year ago. Someone from had Canada called up Gurjot’s uncle, Avtar Singh, and gave him the news about his demise.
Gurjot is survived by his mother and sister. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and SAD MLA Manjinder S Sirsa also tweeted on the unfortunate incident.
Sirsa wrote: An unfortunate incident! Standing in solidarity with family of Gurjot Singh from Bathinda who was shot dead in Brampton I urge @DrSJaishankar Ji to support the family by ensuring that the dead body reaches his village at the very earliest.
