YAD to help youths stuck in Iraq

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today announced that its youth wing YAD would meet all expenses, including return tickets, to bring seven Punjabi youths stranded in Iraq back to their homeland.

Addressing a press conference here along with family members of the stranded youths, senior SAD leader Bikram Majithia said they would also provide legal aid to the youths to ensure their safe and hassle free return. He said a YAD delegation would also meet the External Affairs Minister in this regard.

Majithia also demanded comprehensive action against travel agents and touts who had duped the parents of the victims. He said a case had been registered against only two persons, while the parents of the youths had named two other persons and had also given evidence of money handed over to them to send their wards abroad.
