Jabalpur, A building meant for storing explosives at an Ordnance Factory in Khamaria (OFK) collapsed after a bomb went off this morning, a top unit official said.
Following the explosion of a bomb (of specification 13 BKP-2 APT), which was kept in the building after being rejected by the Army, the entire magazine went up in flames and collapsed, OFK’s Joint General Manager B B Singh told reporters.
The bombs rejected by Army were stored in the magazine specially constructed for the purpose. The building has no power connection and even entry of employees in it is restricted, he said.
No loss of life was reported from the site, he said, adding that the cause of the blast was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Indian National Trade Union Congress’ National General Secretary Arun Dube alleged that the blast was allegedly carried out with vested interests to affect the ongoing probe in the two similar explosions that took place at the factory in the recent past.
