Grenades sent by KLF chief via Pak: Police

Amritsar

The Amritsar Rural police has claimed that Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harmeet Singh PhD reportedly sent grenades from Pakistan for terror activities on the anniversary of Operation Bluestar.

The police said they reached to this conclusion after investigating the links between already arrested militants and hand grenades confiscated by the police yesterday.

Rural SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said in a press conference that after linking all dots during investigation, it had been learnt that Pakistan-based militant leader Harmeet Singh had been operating the terror module by recruiting the youth from the social media.

Duggal said, “The grenades came from Pakistan through trans-border smuggling. The consignment belonged to KLF chief Harmeet, who wanted to disturb peace and communal harmony on Ghalughara Diwas.”

The police official claimed that they found the association of the grenades with Palwinder Khanpuria, who left the country in January and his current location was yet to be traced.

The Amritsar police had confiscated two hand grenades from two youths in the Rajasansi area near Amritsar on Sunday. The unidentified youths, who managed to give the police a slip, were yet to be arrested.
