Amarinder using sacrilege to hide his failures: Sukhbir

Moga

Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said he had full faith in divine justice and prayed that the Almighty may wipe out those indulged in the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and those playing cheap politics over this sensitive issue.

He said this while addressing a public gathering in favour of party candidate Gulzar Singh Ranike at Moga on Thursday.

Since Moga and Faridkot districts witnessed more than 70 per cent of the sacrilege incidents in 2015-2016, raising a political turmoil in the state during these years, the junior Badal appeared little defensive on this socio-religious issue.

Sukhbir said Capt Amarinder was using the sacrilege issue merely to divert the attention from his utter failure as an administrator of the state. “He is running away from the core issues of development, governance and welfare of the people. The CM lacks the courage to seek votes on his performance.”The SAD chief announced that transforming the face of rural Punjab and further upgrade of the urban areas would be the top priority of his party when it forms the next government in the state. “And that may be sooner than the Congress thinks. And before that, we will use our clout to get the Central projects and schemes for modernising the state,” he said.
