Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Avtar Singh Makkar accompanied by executive committee member Karnail Singh Panjoli today called upon Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa at Lakhnour Sahib near Ambala to discuss with him the issue of the release of the Sikh prisoners.
Bhai Khalsa told Makkar to take up the issue strongly with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. He said Badal should take the first initiative to release such prisoners lodged in Punjab jails. He said after releasing the Punjab prisoners, Badal should raise the issue with the Narendra Modi government.
Makkar is learnt to have assured him to do the same.
It may be mentioned that the SGPC has also written to Badal on the issue of the release of these prisoners. The SGPC list contains many more names.
