Amritsar, October 23
MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura on Tuesday resigned from all party posts citing advanced age and health grounds.
The 81-year-old ‘taksali’ Akali leader was second to Parkash Singh Badal in seniority and age.
He quit as senior vice-president and Core Committee member.
He, however, said that he would continue to serve the party as a ‘soldier’.
Without naming anyone, he said that the shortcomings in the party ‘s organisational set up led the party to restraint to just 13 seats.
He confessed that he was unhappy and unfortunate to be part of party on two devastating issues, which include flip-flop decision to pardon Dera Sirsa cult and Barghari sacrilege incidents.
