Harsimrat blames Congress

Mansa:Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said drugs found an easy way into India during the 10-year rule of the Congress in the country. The Punjab Government was fighting an international-level battle against drugs that had been finding their way into the state through Afghanistan and Pakistan, she said.Appealing to the political parties to get united in the battle against drugs, she said, “The drug monster can be fought only by joining hands and rising above differences. Punjab does not produce drugs. It is a victim of drugs produced and sold in other states.” She said there should be a common anti-drug law throughout the country. She handed over a cheque for Rs 9 lakh as financial help to the family of martyr Naik Jagsir Singh who laid down his life in Arnia sector of Jammu. “It is due to such sacrifices by our brave soldiers that Indians were able to live fearlessly,” she said.Later, she laid the foundation stone of the Unified Services Delivery Centre (Sewa Kendra), which is coming up at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. The people of Mansa would get all services under one roof at this centre, she said. To ensure best services to the people of Mansa, 72 such centres would be opened in the district, she added.
