Talwandi Sabo, Takht Damdama Sahib Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh today said if there was any fault in the Nanakshahi calendar developed by Pal Singh Purewal, it could be rectified.Replying to a query, he confirmed that the ‘path’ for the January 5 bhog to celebrate Gurpurb would be held as planned.Though he said he hadn’t received any support in the matter from the other Jathedars, he stated several Sikhs from across the world backed him on the issue.“As per the Nanakshahi calendar, the dates of our holy days do not change from year to year,” Nandgarh said. He said the Bikrami calendar changed the festival days of the Sikhs.The 72-year-old Jathedar also expressed concern over the deteriorating health of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who is on a protest fast against the illegal detention of Sikhs in various jails.He announced that he would soon meet Khalsa and extend his support to him.
