By now its common knowledge that Apple will be launching three new iPhones this year even though the brand themselves haven’t officially confirmed the same. One rumour that has been popping up sporadically is that for the first time, Apple will be adding dual SIM capabilities with its iPhones.
As per a report by GSMArena, an image that has been recently posted on China Telecom’s Facebook page has confirmed that the Apple will add dual SIM support with one of the upcoming iPhones.
As of yet, there is no official word on which one of the handsets will come with this feature but in all likelihood, it could be the iPhone XR which is the 6.1-inch budget handset. For those hoping that this feature of the handset will be rolled out to India, it appears that it may not happen and it is expected to be a China exclusive.
The dual SIM feature will be backed up by a capable modem that supports 4G connectivity which cobers China Telecom’s various network types.
The 2018 iPhones will be unveiled on September 12. Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone XS which is a 2018 version of the iPhone X, an iPhone XS Max, that’s said to feature a 6.5-inch display and a budget iPhone that may be called the iPhone XR. The budget handset is believed to feature a 6.1-inch LCD display and will have toned down specifications in comparison to the XS and XS Max.
