Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh

CPI has strongly criticised the chauvinists who are making a mountain out of a mole of Navjot Sidhu’s participation in Imran Khan’s oath taking ceremony. He went on a personal invitation of his friend from the cricket world. Neither did he represent the State nor the Centre but millions of Punjabis and Indians who carry a glimmer of hope for peace and an end of confrontation between the two neighbouring countries. He went with due permission of Central Government who could have easily stopped him from going abroad, particularly to Pakistan, if they sensed anything wrong with the request.
Post a meeting of state leaders of the Communist Party of India, Dr Joginder Dayal, member of the National Council and Com Bant Singh Brar, Secretary State CPI in a statement said that the party is strongly of the opinion that the conflict with Pakistan should be solved through negotiations but RSS hawks and ISI and military junta on the other side of border don’t want this to happen because their politics is based on hatred towards neighbours and minorities. That is why they are targeting Sh. Navjot Singh Sidhu whose welcome in Pakistan by crores of people and here in Punjab has aroused hope of a peaceful initiative. Though he was on a non-official personal visit still he was called by the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan as “Ambassador of Peace”.
It goes without saying that a congenial atmosphere should be created by stopping cross border terrorism and cross border firing. CPI has always been a strong champion and fighter for unity and integrity of India . It has always opposed extremist and terrorist nefarious design to balkanise the country.
