Driving Naari Programme launched in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: A day after CBI officials raided the office and residence of Ferozepur Range IG Gurinder Singh Dhillon in a graft case, the state government transferred him on Saturday. As per the transfer order issued by Additional Chief Secretary NS Kalsi, Dhillon has been posted here as IG, Human Rights. Mukhwinder Singh Chhina, who was serving as IG (Human Rights), will replace Dhillon. A CBI team had raided Dhillon’s office-cum-official residence in Ferozepur late on Thursday night, even as the investigating agency had arrested a Ludhiana resident for accepting bribe allegedly on the IG’s behalf. An SIT headed by Dhillon is probing the 2012 patwari frame-up case, in which ex-SSP Shiv Kumar Sharma and five other cops are the accused. The raids were conducted following Sharma’s complaint.
