Jor Mela begins in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib, Lakhs of devotees paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup Sahib to mark the 310th year of martyrdom of Mata Gujri and Guru Gobind Singh’s sons Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, here today.The “Shaheedi Samagam” began with Akhand Path by head granthi of Giani Harpal Singh at Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup. The mela would culminate with bhog on December 28 and the nagar kirtan from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib would start at 9 am and reach Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup at 1 pm. The police have made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the fair.Meanwhile, workers of various political parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, are leaving no stone unturned to make their conferences a show of strength on December 27. This is the first time that AAP will organise a political conference during the Shaheedi Jor Mela here.
