New Delhi, August 14: As the net of investigation into cases of sacrilege in Punjab starts widening with the fingers being pointed at the top at that time in the administration, Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal today rejected the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report on the basis of which these proceedings have been initiated.
These cases relate to 2015 when Parkash Singh Badal headed the Akali Dal-BJP government in the state.
Talking to the media here, he said the Ranjit Singh Commission report was a political document dictated by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
He led a delegation of the party, the SGPC and the DSGMC and Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sikh issues.
He said the delegation demanded clubbing of all cases relating to November 1984 carnage of the Sikhs to a special court for completion of trial within six months.
He said all Sikh political prisoners who have completed the sentence should be released forthwith.
The Afghan Sikhs who have settled in India should be granted citizenship.
The Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir should be accorded minority status.
