Chandigarh, Taking a serious note of the deaths of youngsters due to drugs in state, youth wing of Aam Aadmi Party has decided to gherao SSP Faridkot office on July 12. Addressing the media at Chandigarh, AAP co-president Dr. Balbir Singh, youth wing Incharge MLA Meet Hayer and youth president Manjinder Singh Sidhu said that chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh is not serious about drug menace in state and AAP will keep on reminding him about his oath to weed out drugs after formation of Congress govt. in state.

Dr. Balbir demanded that Capt. Amarinder Singh must reveal the facts of report submitted by STF on the issue of drugs in state. The CM must clarify when he is going to take action against Akali leaders responsible for drug menace and indulged in drug trade in Punjab. He said that Capt. during his poll campaign promised to put the Akali leaders responsible for ruining the youth of state behind bar but is now running away from fulfilling his promise.

Addressing the media, Meet Hayer said that the govt. is trying to diver the attention of people from the issue of drugs with dope test drama. He said that dope is not at all the solution of drug problem and if Capt. Amarinder Singh promises that no death due to drug will take place after the exercise then he is ready to undergo it twice a day.

Answering a question, Hayer said that AAP MLAs are undergoing dope test voluntarily with their will. He said that had the AAP leaders denied it, Congress govt. must have accused them of running from undergoing dope test. He asked CM to now take action against drug paddlers.

Manjinder Sidhu said that Capt. Amarinder Singh has no interest in the affairs of state and he stays aloof of the problems being faced by state in the present times. Reacting on the exposé about involvement of police employees in drug paddling in the area made by youngster Sonu of dist. Fazilka, Sidhu said that the govt. has suspended the employees after the gherao call given by youth wing of AAP.

Sidhu said that AAP youth wing will not hesitate to walk extra miles to make the state drug free. He said that the wing under ‘Halla Bol’ campaign, will gherao SSP offices throughout the state in case any death related to drugs happens. He said that the responsibility of police officers shielding drug paddlers must be fixed.
