Terming the claimed joining of a few leaders into the Congress fold a mere drama enacted by the local Congress leaders, former Minister and MLA Bikram Singh Majithia today alleged that the ruling party’s rally today turned out to be a `flop show’. Many of the senior leaders of the party stayed away from the function in Majitha which was presided over by Punjab Congress head Sunil Jakhar Ji.
Majithia said the local Congress leaders were not only trying to befool the public but even their own Party President and other senior leadership by resorting to gimmicks of `joining’ some leaders into the Congress who are already in Congress and supported the Congress during the last February 2017 assembly elections.
The firebrand Akali leader in whose constituency, Majitha, the Congress state chief today addressed a public function, took no time to make public the photographs of the so called `new joining’ of the leaders as `recycling of old material’. “The Congress party is known for enacting dramas and this `joining’ is nothing but a sham. The local leaders are befooling their own party President and other senior leadership by organizing such misleading stage-shows which turned out to be a flop show’’, he lambasted.
Majithia said that the Congress had come into power by making huge false promises and has failed to meet the expectations of the people and Punjab. “The law and order situation is worse, economy is in dole drum and corruption prevails all around and the government is in deep slumber’’, he lamented. He said where is the scheme of `Har Ghar Naukari’, the 51000 Shagan Scheme, the 2100 Pension Scheme and the addition of Ghee and Sugar to the Atta-Dal scheme as promised by the Congress.
He said the electricity rates have increased by 20 % for domestic supply in the last one year of Congress regime and where is the promise of Rs.5 per unit power for the industry. He said the VAT on Petrol and Diesel is up to Rs. 20 per liter and the prices of the oil can come down if state government of Congress brings down the VAT tariff. He also chided Captain government over the farmers’ loan as over 90000 farmers and rather the farmers are being harassed daily by the banks.
He said instead of taking up the development agenda, the Congress has stopped the various social welfare schemes initiated by previous SAD-BJP government in the state which include Shagan Schemes and Pension Schemes. The unemployment is on rise, industry is closing down and business and trade is on standstill while the Congress is unleashing a false propaganda like today’s show as they have nothing concrete to show to the public.
He said the Congress leaders are in the habit of playing tactics as the so called leaders like Swaranjit Singh Kuralian and Ganga Singh etc who claimed to have joined Congress today are already in Congress. He presented before the media the photographs when they had been attending various Congress programs and party functions in the past. He said Congress state head Sunil Jakhar Ji must realize how their leaders were playing tricks.
“But see the popularity of these leaders. Wherever they campaigned, their party candidates failed in those villages miserable in the last assembly elections which is evident from the polls results of their own villages’’, said Majithia. He produced before the media the newspapers cutting and videos when they are addressing the Congress rallies. “The people are wise enough to understand the gimmicks of failed leaders like Sukhjinder Singh Lally Majithia and Bhagwantpal Singh Sachar who are oraganizing such shows to befool their own leaders’’, said Majithia.
