Shahkot, May 26
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed the confidence that a united Opposition will oust the BJP-led government at the Centre, which he described as a total failure on all counts.
Talking to mediapersons during his roadshow here on Saturday, Captain Amarinder said the anti-BJP forces were coming together and would throw the BJP-led central government, of which the people of India were complete fed up.
People want a change, they want a future, they want a government that delivers, said the Chief Minister, adding that the Modi government would bear the consequences of its ill-conceived policies in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The economy had been destroyed, industry was fleeing, law and order had collapsed, prices of diesel/petrol and other essentials were out of control, pointed out Captain Amarinder, adding that nobody wanted such an India. Citing the escalating prices of diesel and petrol, the Chief Minister said the Modi government’s policies were completely warped, which the people of the country were fully aware of.
The problems faced by the country under the Modi government were immense, said the Chief Minister, adding that the people of India were not willing to give another chance to them. People want a progressive India, with credible institutions which were not under the control of a party, he added.
