Chandigarh, Owing to the persistent efforts of the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal the state government had been able to tied over the scarcity of the Urea in the state.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that concerted efforts on part of Chief Minister resulted in convinced the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of india to enhance allocation of Punjab by 1, 11,000 MTs during December 2014 to make up for the shortfall in October and November 2014. Against the demand of 13,15,000 MTs of Urea the state has already received 7, 26, 036 MTs upto December 14, 2014 which was 50,000 MTs more than as compared to the corresponding period of last year in which, the state had received 6,73,286 MTs.
The spokesperson clarified that now there was no shortage of urea in the state adding that constant monitoring was being done by the state Agriculture Department to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulty in this regard.
