Men arrested for alleged pepper spray incident at Peterborough high school

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Police say two Peterborough, Ont., men are facing charges after pepper spray was allegedly used on three people at a high school.

Investigators say a 19-year-old man who had previously attended Crestwood Secondary School got into a fight with a 16-year-old boy on the school’s premises on Friday.

They allege the 19-year-old sprayed the 16-year-old in the face with pepper spray, and then sprayed two of the school’s staff members.

Officers say that during the altercation, a 22-year-old man who had also previously attended the high school allegedly assaulted a staff member who attempted to intervene.

Police say the 19-year-old is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon while the 22-year-old is charged with assault.

They will appear in court on May 3.
