Amritsar, April 10: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to file review petition in the Supreme Court against the decision to allow release of the controversial film Nanak Shah Fakir.
SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal said the body was fully supportive of the Sikh sentiments against this movie that has been banned by Akal Takht.
He expressed the view that its release would result in anger among the Sikhs. He made it clear the issue involved was not legal but that of respecting the Sikh sentiments and sensibilities.
Longowal said the Supreme Court decision was ex-parte as the SGPC was not given the opportunity to present its case.
