Funds for SC students still to be released by govt : Sunil Jakhar

Chandigarh, Punjab Congress Legislature Party leader Sunil Jakhar today charged the Parkash Singh Badal government with diverting the funds allocated by the centre under scholarship scheme for the scheduled castes students.

He said these funds amounted to Rs. 376 crore. The government had been maintaining a silence over these funds. He called upon Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to release these funds immediately with Rs. 22 crore as interest and stop posing himself as champion of the dalits. These funds were sent by the centre in August last.

Addressing a news conference, he demanded that a commission should be set up to supervise these funds for dalits.
