New Delhi: Ishant Sharma has been found guilty on Sunday for breaching the ICC code of conduct during the second Test at Brisbane.
In the first innings lanky Indian speedster used inappropriate language after dismissing Australian skipper Steve Smith in first innings.
For his offence, the fast bowler has to pay 15 per cent of his match-fees as a fine. He violated Level 1 Article 2.1.4 of theICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International match.”
Indian bowling spearhead was even caught on TV cameras while using inappropriate words after picking up the wicket.
According to media reports the 26-year-old, admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by the match referee.
Meanwhile, Australia too have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in the Test. The ICC Match Referees imposed the fine on Australia after Steven Smith’s side was ruled to be three overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
