11 Officers caught red handed in graft cases during September

Chandigarh – The Punjab Vigilance Bureau, has considerably intensified its anti corruption campaign in the month of September. The Bureau has been successful in nabbing 11 officers red handed while receiving the bribe whereas vigilance inquiry in 7 different cases has also been completed and subsequently the challans have been filed.
Disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that during the month of September, 2014, eleven officers/officials were caught red handed accepting bribe and cases under Prevention of Corruption Act-1988 were registered against all these officers. He said that during September the Vigilance Bureau has registered 5 criminal cases whereas 5 other cases of disproportionate assets were registered against government officers. He said that the Vigilance Bureau has also initiated fresh vigilance inquiries in 19 different cases
The spokesman further said that during the hearing of another cases filed by Vigilance Bureau, the Hon’ble courts have pronounced sentenced to 5 persons in bribery cases…..
