Chandigarh, A record number of 1.7 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara so far this year.
Sewa Singh, manager of Gurdwara Govind Dham, said today that NS Bindra, chairman of the Uttarakhand Minority Commission and vice-president of the Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib Trust, was on a three-day visit to the gurdwara in Chamoli to take stock of the facilities.
He said Bindra was apprised about the damaged stretch of the yatra track from the helipad up to the gurdwara. Bindra assured them of taking up the issue with the Uttarakhand CM. He added the company that was allotted the ropeway project last year was yet to start work on it
