Lambasting the Chautalas for trying to vitiate the atmosphere by playing dirty politics over SYL, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh today said the party would not allow INLD Chautala and Company to take political mileage for revival of corruption tainted INLD.
Chugh claimed that by arresting Abhay Chautala along with 19 of INLD MLAs and other leaders before they could proceed to dig the SYL in Punjab, the Punjab Police have justifiably and efficiently protected the interests of the state.
Terming the move as an attack on the sovereignty of Punjab, the BJP leader said the Punjabis and the BJP won’t tolerate any such move.
Chugh slammed Chautalas for cheap gimmicks to regain ground as the image of INLD and Chautalas had taken a beating because of conviction in corruption cases. He said two senior members of Chautala family were behind bars on corruption charges and Abhay Chautala was making a futile attempt for the revival of party’s image.
He said SAD-BJP government of Punjab was committed neither to allow the construction of the Canal nor to allow a single drop of water to flow out of the state.
Chugh hailed Punjab Police for elaborate and effective steps to counter any misadventure by INLD and congratulated the force for handling the situation effectively and in the best interest of the state.
