Vigilance nabs ASI taking bribe Rs. 5,000

Chandigarh, January 22: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Tarlok Chand red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Tarlok Chand posted at police station Kabarwala in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jaspal Singh of village Pakki Tibbi in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs.5,000 to help him in a complaint case.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and accused ASI was arrested on the spot demanding and taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
