Vigilance nabs ASI Baljinder Singh, Head Constable in bribery case

Chandigarh, November 17 : State Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and Head Constable red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Baljinder Singh and Head Constable Bhajan Singh both posted at Narcotic Cell in Moga were nabbed red handed on the complaint of Baljinder Singh of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Nagar, Moga city . The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI and HC were demanding Rs. 1,20,000 and threatening him to include his name in a case related to NDPS act.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI and Head constable were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/- as first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
