Chandigarh, April 29 : The Shiromani Akali Dal today took strong notice of the threat issued by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)  Political party of Haryana to forcefully stop vehicles of Punjabis from entering Haryana on July 10, 2017 and termed this act as unfortunate, illegal, unconstitutional and higly dangerous.

In a statement released from the Party Head office here today, the SAD Secretary, Spokesman and former Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that it was surprising that a responsible political party is giving call for such a program which can directly result in bloody clashes between the people of Punjab and Haryana. He said that this decision of of INLD has reminded the people of 1982 ASIAN games during which people from Punjab particularly Sikhs who were going to witness these games were dragged out of their vehicles and were humiliated on large scale.

Dr. Cheema further said that political parties from Haryana should desist from indulging in such inciting activities and should not forget their responsibilities while trying to score points in political battle on SYL issue. He said that neither such bogus threats can scare Punjabis nor can stop them from entering Haryana.

Taking serious notice of this threat the SAD has urged Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar to take serious notice of threat issued by INLD and ensure safety of Punjabis and smooth flow of traffic from Punjab to Delhi via Haryana and Vice Versa.
