SAD President Sukhbir Badal condemns murderous attack on Parminder Kolianwali.

Chandigarh, October 23 – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today condemned the murderous attack on Parminder Singh Kolianwali, son of SAD Muktsar district president and SAD member Dyal Singh Kolianwali by Congressmen last night and said it was symptomatic of the jungle raj prevailing in Punjab under Congress rule.

In a statement here, the SAD president said incidents of attacks of Akali leaders and workers started right after the establishment of the Congress government and were going on blatantly without any stop. He said Kolianwali’s son was not given adequate protection despite repeated requests to the State police that his life was under threat.

Asking the Congress government to display the political will needed to stop the wave of vendetta incidents in the State, Mr Badal said they had been continuing right since the killing of Akali leader Gurbachan Singh Khalsa immediately after the assembly election in Gurdaspur. He said after this there were numerous killings including those in Khemkaran, Mansa, Ferozepur and Muktsar. “Akali workers were attacked at numerous places. Many were humiliated by being molested and disrobed. False cases are being registered enmass against Akali sarpanches and councillors to make them toe the Congress line”.

Stating that the goondaraj unleashed by the Congress leaders and party workers had even emboldened anti social and anti national elements, Mr Badal said the State had witnessed a number of murders designed to spoil the communal atmosphere. He said while Pastor Sultan Masih had been murdered in Ludhiana earlier, now RSS leader Ravinder Gosain had also been murdered in Ludhiana.
