Mumbai: Generally, birthdays in Bollywood mean throwing grand and lavish parties.
However, Anushka Sharma, who is quite a recluse, wanted to keep her birthday a low-key and private affair.
The actress, who has never hosted a Bollywood bash, started her day by reaching out to her fans through social media, who kept pouring in good wishes for her, a glimpse of it was seen on Anushka’s Instagram account.
Anushka Sharma, who turned 29 on Monday, May 1, ditched alleged beau Virat Kohli’s idea of throwing a huge birthday bash for her with his Boys (Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL Cricket team), according to a report in a tabloid.
However, Virat was very well present in Mumbai and was playing with his Bangalore team against Mumbai Indians. Though Virat’s team lost the match, this didn’t stop Virat from throwing a bash for his ladylove.
On the contrast, Anushka denied the idea of celebrating her birthday amidst glitz and galore and preferred celebrating it with her near and dear ones.
Her special day was celebrated with her close friends, family and pet dog, Dude, at her suburban residence.
Talking about birthday girl’s close friend Katrina Kaif, her wish stood out exclusively, as she posted a picture and joked, “Happy Birthday to my friend, Anushka Sharma, whom I always seem to be sharing a couch with!”
Their camaraderie was well-seen on Karan Johar’s talk show.
