Modest start for Aditi, Bhullar makes the cut

Evian-Les-Bains (France),  Aditi Ashok birdied three of four par-5s, but dropped three bogeys and a double to finish with a modest 1-over 72 in the opening round of the Evian Championships.
With half the field still on course, Aditi was 48th in the opening round. The tournament has been reduced to 54 holes after the first day’s play on Thursday was cancelled because of inclement weather. Aditi, starting from the 10th, began with a bogey but made up with birdies on the 13th and 15th.
On her second nine, the front side of the course, she bogeyed the first, birdied the second and then again bogeyed the fourth, but the crusher was a double on the par-3 fifth. She lessened the hurt with a birdie on the par-5 ninth but was over par at 72. Sung Hyun Park opened with an 8-under 63 to take the early lead at the season’s final Major.
Gangjee best Indian in Shinhan Donghae golf
Incheon: Rahil Gangjee and defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar were the only Indians to make the cut at the Shinhan Donghae Open golf today. Gangjee (71-70) was the top Indian at tied-27th, up from 35th, while Bhullar (73-71) improved from 62nd to 55th. All the other Indians in the field missed the cut. They included Shubhankar Sharma (72-73), Sujjan Singh (74-72), S Chikkrarangappa (72-74), Jeev Milkha Singh (73-77) and Chiragh Kumar (74-76). SSP Chawrasia, hit by jetlag, missed his tee time on the first day and was disqualified.
Overnight leaders Kyungnam Kang and Junsung Kim carded matching 2-under-par 69s while Seungtaek Lee moved into the share of the lead by returning with a 67.
