Chandigarh, October 22: Shiromani Akali Dal today stated that the AAP Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal being a paper tiger was releasing multiple election manifestos, like the traders manifesto stated for release tomorrow, to gain cheap publicity even as the traders and Industrialists of Delhi were being harassed to meet VAT targets.

In a statement issued here, senior leaders N K Sharma and Swarup Singla said any party election manifesto was a very serious document and a single manifesto was always enough to showcase the vision, mission and the programs of a party that it has planned for the betterment of different sections of a society. They said Kejriwal adopted policy of issuing multiple manifestos to confuse people besides getting free media publicity.

Putting AAP on mat for harassing traders and industrialists of Delhi to meet its VAT targets, N K Sharma and Swarup Singla said traders across Delhi complained of harassment by state officials in VAT collection. They said Minister Kejriwal failed to meet the target he had set with regard to VAT collection. “The schemes launched by the government failed to yield any result even as officials and staff of the Revenue Department had been harassing small traders. The government had set a target of collecting Rs 24,000 crores for the year through VAT but it collected just Rs 9,000 crores”, they added

They further elaborated, “Delhi government launched schemes like “Bill Banwao, Inaam Pao”, VAT App, VAT Helpline, Market Portal etc and had hoped to collect more than Rs 24,000 crore with the help of these schemes. Finding thet targets had not being met, the government has lost senses and is harassing the traders and industrialists to meet targets”. They said that even AAP traders wing openly opposed the demonian policies of Delhi government . They said that it was the reason that no new industry was being setup in Delhi in last two years and even existing industry was shifting its base to other states.

Daring AAP leadership to compare pro industry initiatives of SAD-BJP Government with Delhi government, the two Akali leaders said Punjab government had formed two industrial boards and two traders boards to redress the issues of both communities besides launching various welfare schemes for them. Elaborating further they said launch of Rahat Scheme, insurance scheme and bringing an industry friendly policy were some of the major steps taken by Punjab government to catalyse industrial growth in the state.

N K Sharma and Swarup Singla further added that SAD-BJP government had not only made Punjab a power surplus state but it was also providing cheapest power to the industry. “Best work environment, cheapest and uninterrupted power, peace and harmony, and initiative of Invest Punjab office to give every solution to industry under one roof are the initiaves of Punjab government that AAP government of Delhi must learn”, they added.
