Chandigarh, In a new development in the molestation case against suspended inspector general of police Gautam Cheema, SAS Nagar additional sessions judge Tarsem Mangla on Wednesday granted interim bail to Rashmi Negi, co-accused in the case.

The court also stayed her arrest provided she joins investigations within five days. She was released after furnishing a bond of Rs. 40,000. The case will now come up for hearing on October 9. The court said she was not allowed to move out of the country without permission.

The case of molestation was registered against suspended IG Cheema, his associate Ajay Chaudhary and Negi on September 2. The complaint was filed against the three on March 20.

The police found that Negi was involved in criminal conspiracy. Kricpy Khaira, wife of alleged conman Davindar Gill, in her complaint, had said that, on March 20, at around 10.30 pm, IG Cheema, along with his commandos and two associates, entered her house at Sector 70 in SAS Nagar after breaking open the door.

She alleged that the IG was under the influence of liquor and molested her.
