Guru Nanak Dev University establishes Centre for Data Analytics and Research

Amritsar, September 19, 2017 – The Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu has established the Centre for Data Analytics and Research (CDAR). The objective of this Centre is to provide necessary support to the researchers and academicians of the University by strengthening the analytical aspects of research to arrive at meaningful and robust conclusions.

Dr. Prabhjeet Singh from Department of Biotechnology and Dr. Balwinder Singh, Department of Commerce of the Guru Nanak Dev University will run this Centre in the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bhawan of the University. This Centre will run under the Monitoring of Director Research of the University and will be equipped with modern State of Art Infrastructure.

This Centre will also handhold the young researchers by providing inputs so that they can submit the proposals for funding from the federal funding agencies, send research papers to high impact journals and also help them in formulating the structure of the thesis/dissertations.

The Centre will provide constructive inputs to researchers submitting/intending to submit research proposals to funding agencies and analytical inputs to research scholars pursing Ph.D. in various disciplines. Other activities of the Centre will be to provide consultation and expertise to faculty and researchers to help publish manuscripts in reputed journals. This Centre will also organize workshops & training programs to instill and polish analytical skills of potential researchers. The Centre will run short term (1-2 days) courses on research methodology, statistical analysis, thesis writing, research paper formulations and critical analysis of research papers. The activities of the Centre will sensitize the students, research scholars and faculty members towards the latest trends in research & analysis.
