Deputy CM to dedicate single location largest solar power plant of the state on 29th Sept: Majithia

Chandigarh, September 26: Punjab New & Renewable Energy Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia has said that Punjab is steadily moving on the path of becoming leading Solar Power State of the country. He said that Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal would dedicate 31.5 MW Solar Power Plant to the people on 29th September.

Disclosing about the one of the biggest investment in the Solar Sector in the state Mr. Majithia said this plant has been set up with the investment of Rs 200 Crore at village Mirpur Kalan in District Mansa.

Mr. Majithia said that this is the largest Power Plant located at single location in the state established at 173 acres of land. He said that the plant has been installed by M/s. Bhanu Energy Infrastructure and Power Limited & Bhanu Energy Industrial Development Limited which is a Parent Company- Hindustan Power Project Pvt. Limited.

New & Renewable Energy Minister said that Punjab has been awarded with 8 awards by the government of India as best performing state in the various sectors of New & Renewable Energy. He further said that Punjab has the Honour of setting Single largest Solar Rooftop Power Plant at Dera Baba Jaimal Singh Beas in Amritsar district.

Mr. Majithia said that in a short span of three-four years of time with the investment of Rs 8000 Crores solar power generation has touched 1080 MW from just 9 MW with the growth rate of more than 100 percent in the state. “Punjab has setup a target of producing 4200 MW Green and Clean Energy with the investment of 30000 Crores by or before 2022”, added Majithia.

The technology used for installing this solar power plant is Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module, Fixed Structure is used which have total 1, 22,328 modules (5097 of Strings) and Bonfiglioli (8+8=16) inverters.
