Congress questions using govt employees for Akali propaganda

rana-gurjeet

JALANDHAR, October 23: Punjab Pradesh Congress vice president and Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh today criticised the Akali-BJP government for using the government employees to distribute the booklets where in it has made false claims of development during last nine years.

“It is total misuse of official machinery where government employees are forced to do the Akalis’ propaganda work”, Rana said in a statement issued here today. He said, with the government employees being deputed for the job of distributing the booklets, normal work in the offices has suffered leading to harassment to general public.

The Congress vice president maintained that had there been any real development carried out by the Akalis during the last about ten years, they would not need to use booklets to tell people. “The development speaks for itself and you do not need to print and publish booklets and force these on people”, he told the Akalis while demanding that the government employees must not be forced to do this job.

He said, the Akali Dal should better use its party workers for the false propaganda. “Since you know that nobody is going to entertain or attend your party workers and believe them, you are forcing the government employees do this job”, he said, while appealing the government employees to resist these diktats where they are forced to carry out Akali propaganda.

Asserting that the development needs no propaganda, he pointed out, people still recall the great work done by Capt Amarinder Singh as the Chief Minister of Punjab, whether it was procurement process, repealing of the water sharing agreements, introduction of BT cotton etc.

“People are better judges themselves and no matter how much you try to mislead them with false propaganda they are not going to believe you or buy your argument”, he told the Akalis while advising them not to waste the state resources.
