GARSHANKAR (HOSHIARPUR), September 25: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today cautioned people to vote carefully lest they end pushing Punjab again into chaos and anarchy.
Interacting with the people from Garshankar assembly segment during ‘Halke vich Captain’ programme here today, Capt Amarinder pointed out that the Akalis had destroyed Punjab beyond redemption. “Their main achievement has been having pushed an entire generation into drugs”, he said, while warning, “beware lest they destroy another generation also”.
He also cautioned people against the alluring promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Arvind Kejriwal who, he said, has adopted confrontation as way of his life. “What Akalis have done to Punjab in ten years, Kejriwal did to Delhi in just one year”, he told people while referring to chaos and disorder that prevails all over Delhi under AAP government. He said, while Delhi was fighting dengue and chikungunya, Kejriwal hospitalised himself in Begaluru and his Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers were holidaying in Europe.
Capt Amarinder asked people to recall his tenure between 2002 and 2007 and compare it with that of the Akalis in Punjab and the AAP in Delhi. He promised to relaunch Punjab on the path of progress and glory and bring back the smile on every Punjabis face.
Among others present included Punjab Youth Congress president Amarpreet Lally, Love Kumar Goldy and Nimisha Mehta.
