Badal announces to hold sangat darshan exclusively for border districts

* Movce aimed at giving further fillip to the development of the villages of these areas
* Badal to take up the issue of Hardships faced by border residents with centre
* Govt to launch new scheme for providing toilets to rural populace

Kambo (Amritsar), Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today announced that he would soon conduct an exclusive Sangat Darshan in the villages of the border districts of the state to boost the pace of overall development in them.

Interacting with the media persons on the concluding day of Sangat Darshan program in the Attari assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that he was well aware of the problems faced by the brave people of the border districts of the state adding that these Sangat Darshans would facilitate the government in solving their long pending problems. He said that the state government would soon chalk out a multi-pronged strategy to ensure the overall development of the border districts in the state. Mr. Badal assured the people that the state government would leave no stone unturned to develop the border districts in the state.

The Chief Minister also announced that he would once again take up the matter regarding the hardships faced by the people residing along with the border fence with the Union government. Mr. Badal said that he had been persistently raising this issue with the successive governments at the centre, so as to bail out the people residing in this area. He further said that concerted efforts would be made in the coming time to bail out the people from this crisis.

Earlier addressing the gatherings at village Bhittewind, Kambo, Heir and Nangali villages, the Chief Minister said that in order provide clean and hygienic environment in the villages across Punjab, the state government would soon launch a new scheme for constructing toilets in every rural household. Mr. Badal said that he had asked the officers of the state government to complete the necessary formalities for meeting the target. “This scheme will be implemented from the next fiscal year to benefit the rural populace” he added.

The Chief Minister exhorted the people to prioritize their development works in village according to their needs so that the state government could execute them efficaciously. He said that Sangat Darshan program had been an integral part of the governance of his government right from the exception because it gives them a chance to redress the grievances of people promptly and efficiently. Mr. Badal also said that the Sangat Darshan system was a boon for the general public as it virtually brings the state government at the doorsteps of the people.

During the Sangat Darshan the Chief Minister assured the people that they would be duly compensated for the damage to all the houses caused due to the heavy rains in the region. He said that the Deputy Commissioner would conduct the survey regarding this after which the compensation would be given to the aggrieved people. Mr. Badal also announced that the process of identifying the remaining beneficiaries of the New Atta Dal scheme would also be completed soon.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Amarpal Singh Bonny Ajnala, SGPC Members Jathedar Gurinder Pal Singh Lally and Jathedar Magwinder Singh, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sharma and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravi Bhagat.
