Anupam Kher replaces Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chairman

New Delhi, October 11
Film actor Anupam Kher has been appointed chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Information and Broadcasting officials said here.
The 62-year-old Kher will succeed Gajendra Chauhan, whose appointment had led to protests. His term had ended in March.
A notification regarding this had been issued, officials said.

He has held the post of chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification and the National School of Drama. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution to cinema and arts.
His wife, actress Kirron Kher, is the Chandigarh MP.
