MP Ravindra Gaikwad

Mumbai,March 28
Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, who beat up an Air India duty manager at Delhi airport last week and later boasted about it in front of the media, has been grounded by the airline for the second time.
The airline cancelled a ticket issued to Gaikwad on the Mumbai-Delhi sector and also issued an alert to its call centre preventing him from booking on any Air India flight till further notice, airline sources said.
According to sources, Air India’s powerful unions representing its officers and crew members have decided not to accommodate Gaikwad on its flights.
The MP, who held an open ticket, attempted to book himself on the Mumbai-Delhi flight this morning after spending the weekend at home in Osmanabad.
On Saturday, Gaikwad’s ticket from Delhi to Mumbai was cancelled and he took August Kranti train. After de-boarding at Vapi in Gujarat he proceeded home by road. He is said to have taken a train to Delhi.
After he was filmed beating up a duty manager, Gaikwad, who was unrepentant about the act, has been banned by private airlines as well.
