AAP should stop playing role of anarchists and support govt. probe into Ludhiana incident – SAD

* SAD leaders appreciate Sukhbir Badal for prompt and decisive action

Chandigarh,  The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership to stop playing the role of anarchists in Punjab politics even as it appreciated Home minister Sukhbir Badal for taking prompt and decisive action with regard to the recent incident in Ludhiana.

In a statement here senior SAD leaders including Maheshinder Singh Grewal and Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said it was unfortunate that AAP, which had failed to provide any responsible leadership in Punjab, was now trying to create fissures in civil society. “This will not be tolerated at any cost”, they added.

The senior SAD leaders also condemned AAP leader Sucha Singh Chottepur for demanding the resignation of Home minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and termed the demand as sheer absurdity. “Action was taken against police personnel involved in the incident and even the district police chief on the basis of a quick preliminary inquiry. Now the law is taking its course with criminal cases being registered against a number of persons including police personnel. We appreciate Mr Sukhbir Badal for taking such prompt decisive action and are satisfied that justice has been done in the matter”, the leaders said.

Mr Maheshinder Grewal it was people like Chottepur who were the real threat to the system as they were creating discord in society. “Mr Chottepur should look into his own credentials before pointing fingers at Mr Sukhbir Badal”, he said adding the AAP leader was known to be part of the militant movement in Punjab. “He joined the SAD and when he did not get the party ticket he promptly joined the Congress, a party which he had promised on the Guru Granth Sahib he would never have any truck with”.

Mr Grewal and Mr Sharanjit Dhillon said this was not all.” Chottepur proved he was a rank opportunist when he quit the Congress after the party did not give him the party nomination. He has even tried his luck as an independent and has now joined AAP to secure the same goals but is feeling frustrated even before the 2018 elections because AAP has become completely irrelevant in Punjab politics”.

The leaders also urged the people and society to keep calm and snub anti social elements who were trying to create fissures in the name of caste. “We have won peace in Punjab after a lot of sacrifices and we should not allow anyone to disturb it any cost”, they added. EOM
